Recipe: Organic home made body balm with The Tallow
Posted on
At Ossa we use The Tallow to roast, cook and fry but also as a natural emollient for the skin. The team often make homemade body balms with this jar of gold mixed with our favourite essential oils.
Tallow can be seen to mirror the structure of our skin cells and with fatty acids also considered the building blocks of these cells, fats like the tallow have been shown to help aid skin repair and regeneration (Weston A Price Foundation).
Try this recipe to make your own homemade organic body balm with The Tallow.
265g Tallow
150g Coconut Oil
3-4 drops Essential oils (or more for desired intensity)
Bring water to a simmer in a large saucepan
Place measure of Tallow and Coconut Oil into a smaller sized saucepan and heat slowly in the bain-marie until melted
Add essential oils and stir
Set aside to cool and solidify
Smooth on to face and or body for naturally supple and youthful looking skin!
